A sign of pedantry
I like this one:

theholyllama posted a photo:
Near Sedbusk Farm, looking across Hawes in Wensleydale towards Sleddale and Dodd Fell Hill.
I was inspired to find this spot because of map geekery. I'd seen an advert for Ordnance Survey that showed more or less this view, titled 'Hawes, Wensleydale' with an OS grid reference that, when I looked it up, was nowhere near Hawes. By studying the map I worked out where I thought the picture had been taken from and what the correct grid reference should have been on the advert, and as we were heading to Hawes felt it only right that I headed to this spot to check I was correct. I was. Take that, Ordnance Survey! For the record, it's SD882911.A sign of pedantry

Interesting:
Complete video at: fora.tv %26ampquot;MythBusters%26ampquot; co-host Adam Savage recalls using mice to test the old adage about the cereal box being more nutritious than the sugary cereal inside it. While Savage and co-host Jamie Hyneman found the surprising results hilarious, Discovery Channel disagreed and banned the episode. ----- Adam Savage Presents Problem Solving: How I Do It at Maker Faire Bay Area 2010. This program was recorded in San Mateo, CA, on May 22, 2010. Adam Savage has spent his life gathering skills that allow him to take what's in his brain and make it real. He's built everything from ancient Buddhas to futuristic weapons, from spaceships to dancing vegetables, from fine art sculptures to animated chocolate and just about anything else you can think of. Since 1993, Adam has concentrated on the special-effects industry, honing his skills through more than 100 television commercials and a dozen feature films, including Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace and Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Galaxy Quest, Terminator 3, AI and the Matrix sequels. He's also designed props and sets for Coca-Cola, Hershey's, Lexus and a host of New York and San Francisco theater companies. Not only has he worked and consulted in the research and development division for toy companies and made several short films, but Adam has also acted in several films and commercials -- including a Charmin ad, in which he played Mr. Whipple's stock boy, and a Billy Joel music video, %26ampquot;Second Wind,%26ampquot; in %26amplt;b%26ampgt;...%26amplt;/b%26ampgt;Adam Savage: The MythBusters Episode You'll Never See
